Based in Shanghai, the GM oversees all aspects of setting up and running our business in China, a new geographical expansion of Sentiance in partnership with PlugandPlay China. We are looking for a strong business leader with a proven commercial and technical track record in selling and deploying technology solutions to large enterprises and government in China. As an entrepreneurial professional, the China GM will build and grow a local team to sell, deliver and support innovative intelligence solutions to China customers, government and partners, in close relationship with our development headquarter in Belgium.

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Provide strategic directions for the business
  • Overall responsibility for business portfolio in China
  • Formulate and implement the company's sales strategies to achieve overall business targets
  • Work closely with the headquarters to ensure alignment of business goals
  • Build, lead and grow local sales and technical team
  • Navigate local regulatory status and work with legal on government relations
  • Build and manage high level relationships and partnerships within the market
  • Maintain Sentiance brand standards in your market


  • Represent the technological agenda in staff meetings and when making hiring decisions
  • Prioritize custom requirements to address China market and customer opportunities
  • Explore opportunities for new product development and innovation in China, and manage
  • alignment with the Sentiance technology and delivery team
  • Maintain current knowledge of technology landscape and developments
  • Track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics
  • Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity
  • Run the China operations team, keeping different cloud deployments life, work closely with HQ team in synchronizing product lifecycle
  • Project manage China client delivery projects by aligning HQ and local sales and partner
    resources, activities and timelines around clear PRD and SOW definitions 
  • Oversee all system design and changes in system architecture 


Experience and requirements

  • BA / BS or equivalent in Business, Marketing or other related degree
    • MBA preferred
  • Minimum 4+ years experience in international technology startups, consulting or related experience with strong commercial, technical and operational focus
  • Proven track-record in selling and deploying technology solutions to China enterprise and government customers
  • Entrepreneurial experience is a must
  • Required P&L experience
  • Experience managing sales and technical teams
  • Passion and understanding for entrepreneurial start-ups
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication, organization and project management skills
  • Assertive and have a strong drive to develop those around you, being an inspirational leader
  • Demonstrate integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, workethic, and empathy
  • Strong technical background
  • Proven experience with Business scaling a plus
  • Speaking local language and understand local culture
  • Proficient in both English and Mandarin
